Was a point gained or 2 dropped. The lads can be very proud of themselves after a really good performance against the league leaders, where at no point were we ever outplayed and we can feel that we should have won this game. The game started quite cagey with few chances at either end. Eventually the game settled down into some sort of pattern where both teams tried to get it the upper hand in midfield. It was the away team that eventually broke the deadlock with a well worked goal. However this soon became 0 - 2 as the away side broke yet again to score. At this point it looked as though it was going to be a very long morning, however we picked ourselves up and played some really good football to score through PH. After a frenzied few minutes of goal action the game settled down with both teams playing some really good football. Despite going close we could not get level so at half time we went in 1 - 2. The next goal was always going to be crucial and unfortunately it was the away side that scored first some slack defending cost us, however it didn't last as the next 20 minutes were really dominated by the home team. Three excellent goals, 2 from HM and 1 from CN put us in front for the first time. With the final whistle only minutes away the away team pushed for an equaliser. A long ball down the right-hand wing was over hit and the danger seemed over, however for a split second our goal keeper took his eye off the ball and there forward reacted quickest to stab the ball home. Some outstanding performances today which will hopefully keep us in good stead for the run in.
