The first Tyne-Valley-Derby of the season is here, as the Seniors face their local rivals Ryton & Crawcrook Albion, with the Seniors out for revenge after a boxing-day-defeat last time out.
Wednesday night saw the Seniors collect their second point of the season. Crucially however, the Seniors also scored their first goals of the season, as Billy Foster and James Simpson netted in the 2-2 draw.
Ryton & Crawcrook Albion sit just one point ahead of the Seniors in 17th, as their only points of the season so far came in a 1-0 win over Sunderland RCA in July.
RACA's last match saw them lose to Seaham Red Star 1-0, a pain the Seniors became familiar with just last weekend.
Kick-Off at Essity Park is at 7:30pm on Friday 8th August, although supporters are encouraged to arrive early, in order to avoid mass queuing. Admission is £6 for adults and £3 for concessions. A printed Match Programme will be available on-entry, with it being included in the price of the adult admission fee.
The club would like to thank Q Finance for sponsoring today's game!
The Opposition
Ryton & Crawcrook Albion has been an ever-present fixture in the Seniors calendar, with RACA having been a part of all three of the Seniors' previous Ebac Northern Football League Division Two campaigns.
They finished 7th last season, six points ahead of the Seniors in 11th.
Manager Nathan Beckham is leading RACA into his fourth season as Manager, and will be keen to replicate the fortunes of last season.
2024/25 saw the Seniors face RACA twice in the league. The first tie was at The Oldhaulage Stadium (a.k.a Kingsley Park), as Craig Fairley and Matt Law scored in a 2-0 win for the Seniors. The second came at Essity Park on Boxing Day, as the Seniors lost 1-0
Players to Watch
The first player-to-watch tonight is a long-standing stalwart at the YC, as Brad Rogers is set to feature in another Tyne-Valley-Derby. What position he will play is still to be seen though, as injury to Liam Dalton leaves a gap at centre-back, but Rogers is just as comfortable in midfield.
Also set to feature is summer addition Connor Lane, who impressed in pre-season, and may be in-line to start tonight.
Good luck, lads!
