Ahead of their fourth Ebac Northern Football League Divison Two season, the Seniors have announced six pre-season friendlies against a variety of teams from the North-East.
The Seniors face three of the sides that they played in last year's pre-season, with the first being away to Northern Football Alliance Premier Divison side Wallington FC. The tie is due to be played on Saturday 5th July, with a 2:00pm kick-off at Oakford Park, Wallington.
The second fixture is away to another Northern Football Alliance Premier Division club, Newcastle East End FC. The game is another repeat of last year's pre-season, this time due to be played on Wednesday 9th July at Coach Lane Sports Campus, Newcastle-upon-Tyne, kick-off tbc.
Leam Rangers FC will follow, as the Seniors will be hoping for a better result than last-summer's 2-1 defeat to the Wearside Premier Division outfit. The game will be played on Saturday 12th July, with a 2:30pm kick-off at the Northern Area Playing Fields, Washington.
A new addition to this year's pre-season schedule is Ponteland United, where the Seniors will be reuniting with former-striker Craig Fairley. Kick-off is tbc on Ponteland's 3G pitch, on Wednesday 16th July. They will be the third side the Seniors face from the Northern Football Alliance Premier Division in pre-season.
The fifth friendly marks the return of a common fixture in the Seniors' pre-season schedule, as Northern Football League Division One side Whickham FC visit Essity Park. Kick-off is at 3:00pm, on Saturday 19th July.
Finally, pre-season ends with another Northern Football League Division One side, as Birtley Town travel to Prudhoe on Saturday 26th July. Kick-off is at 3:00pm, in the first game between the sides since a 3-3 draw in the Northern Football League Division Two in 2023. EDIT: due to a scheduling mix-up, this fixture against Birtley Town has since been cancelled.
New manager Dean Walker will be looking to use these fixtures as an opportunity to implement his tactics, and make any squad alterations ahead of the forthcoming season.
Keep an eye on the Seniors' social media channels for further updates throughout pre-season and beyond.
