A great start to the season from the Development Squad as they faced a strong West End side in our first competitive match in over 6 months. A bullet header from Nathan Moore following a deep free kick from Dave Mitchell in the opening minutes was followed by a tap in from the oppositions man of the match Joe Glenwright - a great 60 yard run and cross from Kyle Bell to assist. A good 20 minute spell with the boys on top.
West End found their passing range on 23 and 27 minutes and with the help of a strong breeze and quick countering they were quickly level and continued to have the better of the remainder of the half. Ben Milner managed to wrestle a goal back in added time from an Archie Wilson pass to end the half on a high.
The second half was an even affair with both teams having their moments. A rash tackle from Tom Stokoe gave the hosts a chance from the spot - well dispatched and level once again. Control slowly headed in favour of the Development lads from the hour mark with another 2 goals well taken by our Man of the Match, Milner - the second a perfect free kick from the edge of the box (video to follow).
